I have recently installed an Epson printer monitoring window, for watching the progress of a photo print and ink levels. This is set to start up when I log in. When the printer is off I, naturally, get a "communications error" message on this window and I close the window down, when I am not printing, often just after I log on.
However, it also has a sound alarm which "goes off" when the printer is switched off and does not, I now discover, stop even when I close down the window.
