It will most likely be where the dryer door closes. I'll give you step by step instructions. Thank you. I tried to take the panel off and ended up just pulling the dryer all over the painted concrete floor. Use a putty knife under each corner of the console end caps and release the clips. Fold the console back out of the way. Remove the three screws securing the back of the top panel then slide the top panel forward and off.
Remove the lower front panel by releasing the two clips on top. Disconnect the door switch wires. Remove the screws on the bottom of the front panel below the door and the two screws holding each side of the top of the front panel. Unhook the lower part of each door spring and remove the front panel. Thank you! That's a lot more complicated than I thought. I'll just take it one step at a time and not be rushed.
It will have to wait a day or so. I'll get back to you when I get that done. I have a full day tomorrow. How do I know if the heat sensor needs to be replaced?
Actually it's not very complicated at all. It just sounds like it. It's seven screws and two clips on the console and two clips on the lower panel: Your machine uses the Even Heat drying system and control board.
When a dryer quits heating, there is no one solution. Any dryer component that fails can potentially keep it from heating. Always start with the basic checks first. Reset both circuit breakers and confirm VAC where the dryer cord connects to the machine. All voltage checks are with the machine on timed dry 40 minutes and high heat selected. When checking components for continuity always remove at least one wire from the component.
The most common parts to fail on that model would be the heating element, thermal cut-off, thermostat or heater relay or control board. Start by measuring the voltage between the two element terminals with the machine running on timed dry, high heat. If your meter measures VAC, the element needs to be replaced.
If your meter measures the wrong voltage or no voltage, check the thermal cut-off, high limit thermostat and element for continuity. The thermistor should measure out at about 12K ohms room temperature. The electric dryer Even Heat model uses two heat relays in the console next to the board. One is a 48 volt relay and the other is a Volt relay. MisterT Premium Member. Joined Jul 13, Messages 3 Location Oregon. So I am having the e1 error but I still have heat.
